I first met Laurie Levy, anti-duck shooting advocate, when I profiled him for The Australian Jewish News in 2010. The following year, I went to the opening of duck season with his group, the Coalition Against Duck Shooting, and witnessed the cruelty of duck hunting for myself.

I've now been involved with this cause for ten years, as a birdwatcher and as a writer. I've contributed press releases, opinion pieces and over100 letters to the editor.

 

I got a gun licence in 2013 in order to be on the wetlands legally, to help save wounded ducks, and wrote an opinion piece about it for Crikey.
