Debbie Lustig is a writer, editor, campaigner and creator of award-winning short fiction and poetry.
Her guiding passions are birdwatching and conservation, the fight to end duck hunting, and modern dog training.

Her non-fiction has appeared in The Age, The Sydney Morning Herald, The Big Issue, The Herald-Sun, The Guardian Australia, The Australian, Crikey, The Bark (USA), Australian Birdlife and The Australian Jewish News.
She has also written extensively for advertorial magazine WeekendNotes.
Her short stories and poetry have appeared in The Big Issue, Eureka Street, Overland, Roomers Magazine and Unusual Work (Collective Effort Press).
In the City of Glen Eira's My Brother Jack literary festival, she won first prize for poetry in 2005 and received other awards in the same competition in 2006-2010, for both poetry and short story.
She administers a long-running Facebook Page aimed at raising awareness of the Orange-bellied Parrot, a critically endangered bird.
