I love birds. I regularly survey (count) birds in several locations and am a member of the National Recovery Team coordinating conservation work on the Orange-bellied Parrot ("OBP").

​

In 2011, I began using social media to raise awareness of the OBP, one of Australia's most endangered birds. 

​

My Facebook Page, Save the Orange-bellied Parrot (and blog) has many hundreds of posts. The Page is followed by 20,000+ people and organisations. In 2014, I edited and self-published a calendar to raise money for conservation, and began an online shop selling custom-designed merchandise.

​

I wrote a crowdfunding campaign in 2016, which raised its target in under two weeks. In all, through my work, I've raised around $15,000 for this bird and helped publicise other conservation efforts, via social media. 

​
